The Paris East Art Museum, or the Gime Museum, was founded at the end of the nineteenth century by a rich Lyon industrialist and a passionate collector, Emil Gime.

Gima's name means a lot to France. A talented and determined entrepreneur, he laid the foundations of a company that later became the Peshin industry group, one of the world ' s leaders in aluminium, chemical and nuclear fuel production.

Gima was fascinating, traveling around Greece, Egypt, Japan, China, India, collecting arts. For the first time, he made his collection in Lyon's home in 1879, ten years later, he took her to Paris. As long as the collector's life, the anti-thesis has become a second priority, the museum has acquired a purely Asian character. Large collections were sent here: Charles Vara, Korean, Jacques Bako, Tibetan, Indokitai Museum, French Archaeological Mission in Afghanistan, Afghan. In 1945, Louvre handed over to the museum a collection of Chinese and Japanese values in exchange for the Egyptian collection.

As a result, the Gime Museum, as long as it was called, became one of the world ' s largest art gatherings in Asia. It is natural that such a museum was formed in Paris, the capital of the former major colonial Power, which extended its influence to Indochita itself.

The thematic sections of the collection contain unique, invaluable works of art. The famous Bodhisatwa statues, which was exported at the end of the nineteenth century by Alfred Fuché from the Peshawar area (formerly Afghanistan, later Pakistan). The treasures of Bagram, including matchurian ivory objects, Roman dishes, Hannah wooden objects, confirm the intensive trade in civilizations of the ancient era. The Museum has a collection of Khmer Sculptures that are not in the world. China, Korea, India, Japan is well represented.

The Buddhist Pantheon is also an integral part of the museum, which contains part of the Japanese Gaime collection and Annri Museum, which stores the Eastern collection of Madame Ennri.
